ARRIS Group, Inc. (ARRIS) is a global communications technology company. The Company operates in three business segments: Broadband Communications Systems; Access, Transport & Supplies, and Media & Communications Systems, specializing in integrated broadband network solutions that include infrastructure and CPE products, as well as systems and software for content and operations management (including video on demand, or VOD) and professional services. It is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of telephony, data, video, construction, rebuild and maintenance equipment for the broadband communications industry. In addition, it is a supplier of infrastructure products used by cable system operators to build out and maintain hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) networks. It provides its customers with products and services that enable high speed, two-way broadband transmission of video, telephony, and data. It provides cable system operators with a product offering for the headend, distribution network and subscriber premises. Its international revenue is generated primarily from Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Canada. On November 21, 2011, ARRIS acquired BigBand Networks. In April 2013, the Company completed the reorganized business by creating a new holding company structure. The Company’s voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and data products include cable modem termination system (CMTS) Edge Router, 2-Line Residential embedded multimedia terminal adapter (EMTA), Multi-Line EMTA for residential and commercial services, Wireless Gateway and high speed data cable modems. Its video/Internet protocol (IP) products include CMTS Edge Router, broadband and Universal EdgeQAM, and Whole Home Gateway and Media Players. Its video processing products include switched digital video systems, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) systems digital video encoders ,transcoders, transraters, and statistical multiplexers and moving picture experts group (MPEG) and IP video stream slicing. The Company provides two cable edge router products, the C4 CMTS and the C4c CMTS, used in the cable operator’s headend, which provide VoIP, Video over IP, data over cable service interface specification (DOCSIS) set top gateway signaling, and data services to residential and business subscribers. Through the acquisition of BigBand Networks it has expanded its platform of headend products to include switched video and IP video processing equipment that enable personalized video applications, as well as various addressable advertising solutions. Subscriber premises equipment includes DOCSIS certified cable modems for data applications, as well as Euro-DOCSIS certified versions and PacketCable Certified EMTAs for VoIP applications in both DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS networks. Its Touchstone product line provides carrier-grade performance to enable operators to provide all data, telephony and video services on the same network using common equipment.
