SPA Business Profile
Sparton Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the concept development, design and manufacturing engineering, production, distribution, and field service of electromechanical devices. The company operates through three segments: Medical Device, Complex Systems, and Defense & Security Systems. The Medical Device segment is involved in the contract design, manufacturing, and aftermarket repair and refurbishment of medical and biotechnology devices and sub-assemblies primarily for use in the diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and laboratory applications of the medical and biotechnology markets. This segment serves medical OEM, ET, environmental monitoring, and industrial systems and controls customers. The Complex Systems segment is engaged in the manufacture, and aftermarket repair and refurbishment of printed circuit card assemblies, sub-assemblies, full product assemblies, and cable/wire harnesses for military and aerospace, and industrial and commercial OEMs. This segment’s products are used in various applications, such as flight controls, cockpit displays, fuel system controls, secure communications, early warning detection, security systems, satellite communications, and audio. The Defense & Security Systems segment designs, develops, and produces products for domestic and foreign defense, and commercial applications. This segment offers anti-submarine warfare devices for the U.S. Navy and foreign governments; develops and markets commercial products for underwater acoustics and microelectromechanical-based inertial measurement; and provides engineering development services for the United States military and prime defense contractors. The company was founded in 1900 and is headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois.
