CBNJ Business Profile
Cape Bancorp, Inc. (Cape Bancorp), incorporated on September 17, 2007, is the bank holding company of Cape Bank (the Bank). The Bank is a New Jersey chartered savings bank. The Bank is a community bank focused on providing deposit and loan products to retail customers and to small and mid-sized businesses. Its principal business is acquiring deposits from individuals and businesses in the communities surrounding its offices and using these deposits to fund loans and other investments. It offers personal and business checking accounts, commercial mortgage loans, residential mortgage loans, construction loans, home equity loans and lines of credit and other types of commercial and consumer loans. At December 31, 2011, its retail market area primarily included the area surrounding its 16 offices located in Cape May and Atlantic Counties, New Jersey and two loan production offices located in Burlington County, New Jersey and Cape May County, New Jersey. In February 2011, the Company opened a loan production office in Burlington County, New Jersey. The Company offers banking services to individuals and businesses predominantly located in its primary market area of Cape May and Atlantic Counties, New Jersey. At December 31, 2011, the Company had total assets of $1.071 billion. At December 31, 2011, the Company had total deposits of $774.4 million. Its retail and business banking deposit products include savings accounts, checking accounts, money market accounts, and certificates of deposit with terms ranging from 30 days to 84 months. At December 31, 2011, 93.6% of its loan portfolio was secured by real estate and over 58.6% of its portfolio was commercial related loans. The Company also maintains an investment portfolio. The Company offers a variety of loans, including commercial mortgages, commercial loans, residential mortgage loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, and construction loans. Its commercial mortgage loan portfolio at December 31, 2011, consisted of 51.4% its total loan portfolio. It offers commercial mortgage loans secured by real estate. Commercial construction loans also are originated for the acquisition and development of land. Commercial mortgage loans for owner occupied real estate are originated with loan-to-value ratios of up to 80%. At December 31, 2011 the Company had no commercial real estate loans that were unsecured. At December 31, 2011, one-to-four family residential mortgage loans totaled $252.5 million, or 34.6%, of its total loan portfolio.
