London Stock Exchange Group plc, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the admission of securities to trading; delivery and operation of trading systems; clearing and settlement of trading in securities; organization and regulation of markets in securities; and provision of investment support tools, real time data and other information products, and technology services. The company operates London Stock Exchange; Borsa Italiana; MTS, Europe’s fixed income market; Turquoise, a UK and Russian derivatives trading; and pan-European lit and dark equity trading markets. It operates in four segments: Capital Markets, Post Trade Services, Information Services, and Technology Services. The Capital Markets segment provides issuer services, which facilitates the companies to raise capital through various markets, as well as provides securities trading services through equity, fixed income and derivatives markets. This segment also provides exchange traded products, including ETFs and ETCs; holds interest in MTS, a platform for the trading of fixed income products; and facilitates trading in Italian, Scandinavian, and Russian equity derivatives through IDEM and EDX London. The Post Trade Services segment offers risk management services; and open access and clearing, settlement, and custody services that supports cash equity, derivative, commodity, and fixed income markets. The Information Services segment sells real time price information and other information services comprising indices, post trade analytics, reference data, processing, data management, connectivity, and software products. The Technology Services segment provides high speed trading platforms, real time market data, and infrastructure products and services to banks, specialist trading firms, and other exchanges.
