Incorporated in 1989, Rolta`s operations are structured into three strategic business groups, viz. geo-engineering, engineering design automation and eSolutions, which are further divided into 2 segments: CAD/CAM/GIS solutions & services and Internet & e-business solutions and services. It has subsidiaries in USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Middle East with a network of over 15 full-fledged offices in India. Rolta`s Indian customers include Ministry of Defense, police authorities, MTNL, ONGC, BSNL etc. Global customers include Verizon, Bell Canada, Saudi Telecom, Bahrain Telecom, British Telecom and Hong Kong Telecom.
The company`s quality standards are benchmarked against world-class levels with certifications such as BS15000, BS7799, ISO-9001:2000 and SEI CMM Level 5. Rolta has partnerships with companies that include Intergraph, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and Computer Associates. The company also has a joint venture with Stone & Webster Inc. USA for addressing large projects in power, petrochemicals, refinery and other segments. Rolta has set up a sophisticated, fully equipped scanning centre in Mumbai. Rolta International, a fully owned subsidiary has also been setup at Huntsville, Alabama, US, which will digitize maps, develop software and create a geographical database for the customers of Intergraph. It has completed its expansion plan to build additional engineering and software development centers at its 250,000 sq.ft. Rolta Technology Park, Mumbai.
In view of its joint-venture with Stone & Webster, the company sees the Indo-US civilian nuclear-cooperation program as a huge opportunity in future. Large new expansion capacities are being planned for refineries and petrochemical plants.
