Incorporated in 1989, Kohinoor Foods (KFL), previously known as Satnam Overseas, is a global food company with a flagship superbrand Kohinoor. KFL has introduced several brands such as Trophy, Super Silky Kohinoor, Charminar and Falcon. The company has two state-of-art fully automated manufacturing facilities in Murthal and Bahalgarh, both in Haryana. It has two subsidiaries namely U.S.A. Satnam Overseas in the US and Indo European Foods in the UK. KFL established a joint venture company Rich Rice Raisers Factory in Dubai to augment its marketing strengths in the Middle-East region. KFL supplies to 57 countries worldwide through 45 distributors and has relationships with leading global retail chains. The company has a network of 150 distributors, 475 stockists and 240,000 retail outlets across the globe. Kohinoor has institutional clientele notably, Taj Group of Hotels, Oberoi Group of Hotels and ITC Sheraton Hotels.

KFL reported a 23.23% decrease in net profits for the quarter ended Sep. 2006 to Rs 47.60 million as against Rs 62 million during the corresponding quarter last year. Sales for the same quarter increased 30.93% to Rs 1,159.40 million as against Rs 885.50 million last year. Net sales for the year ended Mar. 2006 stood at Rs 5,399.37 million as compared with Rs 5,035.41 million for the previous year ended Mar. 2005. The net profit increased to Rs 207.9 million in FY06 from Rs 154.8 million last year, an increase of 34.30%, due to higher branded sales and improved operating profit margin. EPS for this year stood at Rs 10.60 as against Rs 7.90 for the previous year ended Mar. 2005. During the financial year 2006, the company`s turnover increased to Rs 5,410 million from Rs 5,070 million in last financial year 2005, an increase of 6.71%.
